Designated Institutional Official

"I love teaching. I have been an OB/GYN Program Director (University of Cincinnati) and a Designated Institutional Official (Mountain Area Health Education Center - Asheville, NC). As a specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology, my clinical practice has been varied throughout my career and has always focused on medically underserved populations (health departments, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and Veterans Affairs). Most recently, my focus has been on inpatient obstetrics and the care of prenatal substance abuse use disorder. My academic interests are faculty development, evidence-based medicine, transitions in medical education (medical school to residency, residency to practice) and equity in the quality of maternal care. I am excited to join the Carilion Clinic Virginia Tech Carilion family."
