Admission Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Required successful completion of USMLE/COMLEX Step 1, 2 and 3
  • Must have completed an Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Preventative Medicine or Psychiatry residency and must be board eligible or have board certification
  • Three letters of recommendation (one must be from the applicant's residency program director)
  • An updated copy of the applicant's curriculum vitae
  • Prior research is desirable, but not a requirement.
  • J1 visas are sponsored.

The Addiction Medicine fellowship is a one-year multidisciplinary fellowship offered at Carilion Clinic-Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. 

Applicants may apply via the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). They may also contact the program manager via email for any questions. Interviews will be conducted virtually.
