Considerations For Applying

How to Apply 

Our Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program is accredited by the American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). We participate in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). All application materials must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)

Application Criteria

Our program does not discriminate with regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability or veteran status. Below are some criteria we look for in our residency candidates. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Service and patient focused attitude
  • Evidence of community service and leadership
  • Pursuit of research and scholarship as evidenced by active ongoing research and prior publications
  • General Performance on the USMLE and COMLEX exams
  • Osteopathic candidates are encouraged to provide USMLE 2 scores
  • Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from the Chair 
  • Our institution only sponsors J1 Visas
  • A valid ECFMG certification upon graduation for Internal Medical Graduates 
Interview Day Structure

At this time, we have concluded interviews for the 2024 ERAS season. We will begin accepting applications for the 2025 season when ERAS opens in the late summer. 

Further updates to follow on the interview structure for 2025, we envision providing both virtual and in person opportunities.
