A Message from Dr. Reynolds

The Virginia Tech Carilion Geriatric Medicine Fellowship has spanned multiple decades and has trained a diverse group of graduates who are incorporating Geriatric Medicine into a variety of practice settings. We aim to be innovators in the field of Geriatric Medicine and hope to recruit those who share this passion.

Our program utilizes Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) and clinics, the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and local post-acute care facilities to provide a well-balanced, practical training experience. Carilion serves the 1 million residents of western Virginia and CRMH is the region’s only tertiary care Level 1 Trauma Center.

Fellows will enjoy a wealth of experiences, spending time in the following venues: Inpatient Geriatric Consults, Carilion Clinic Center for Healthy Aging (consultative memory care), Home Health, Ambulatory Geriatric Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Palliative Medicine and Hospice, and PACE (programs of all-inclusive care for the elderly).

We encourage academic and scholarly pursuits and allow you the opportunity to work with supportive faculty mentors.

Roanoke is a unique blend of small-town feel in an urban environment where you will discover an array of amenities and activities, including outdoor recreation, local festivals, great restaurants, and diverse cultural experiences.

We appreciate your interest and look forward to meeting you.

Come see what makes us different.
