Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Virginia Tech-Carilion Clinic School of Medicine Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Program. Our hospital system provides quality care for a million Virginians who call southwest Virginia home. 

As an academic medical center, we are committed to providing our fellows with outstanding real-life learning opportunities in geriatric psychiatry. This real-life preparation is gained through our diverse clinical opportunities, excellent faculty, a well thought out balance between a fellow’s autonomy with supervision and mentoring, and dedicated time for knowledge gains and exploration.

Our goal is to ensure that our fellows receive an excellent educational experience that prepares them to become adept in clinical practice, academia, research, and policy development in our ever changing and challenging healthcare environment.  This fellowship works hard to create and maintain an inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment for all our learners to thrive.
