The Virginia Tech Carilion (VTC) Hand Surgery Fund
At Carilion Clinic, our team of orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgeons provides care at the Institute for Orthopaedics and Neurosciences in several locations throughout southwest Virginia. Our board-certified, fellowship-trained hand surgeons evaluate and treat thousands of patients each year.
The VTC Hand Surgery Fund ensures the continuation, promotion and diffusion of knowledge for the fine art and science of hand and upper extremity surgery.
Uses of the Fund may include:
- Educational opportunities for hand surgery fellows
- Professional development and advancement of hand surgery fellows
- Community hand and upper extremity orthopaedic educational and public relation efforts
- Establishment and advancement of hand and upper extremity research efforts (including acquisition of laboratory space
- Appropriation of advanced supportive orthopaedic equipment for clinical, research and educational use
- Support of a Visiting Professor and Guest Lecturer series
- Costs pursuant to interdisciplinary team building
- Establishment of endowed leadership positions
