How to Apply

Admission Requirements

In line with the AAN Neurology Residency program director and clerkship director Consensus Statement for the 2023-24 application cycle, our selection committee will:

  • Complete a holistic review of applications, recognizing that access to different clinical, research, extracurricular, work and other experiences vary significantly in normal circumstances and are further impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Recognize that a significant proportion of medical students will have completed their clerkship training in a non-traditional environment during the pandemic with exclusively virtual learning experiences and online educational programming.
  • Have flexibility with requirement of neurology-specific letters of recommendation for screening, acknowledging that applicants may not have had access to neurology rotations prior to applying.
  • Understand that due to limited testing site availability as a result of COVID-19, Step 2CK and/or Step 2CS may not be completed.

Carilion adheres to all local, state and federal employment laws and administers its employment practices in keeping with the following guidelines. Applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, veteran status, disability, sex or other protected categories except as a bona fide occupational qualification.
