Rheumatology Fellowship

Welcome to The Carilion Clinic - Virginia Tech Carilion Rheumatology Fellowship program. The program is part of a university-based Internal Medicine residency program in the heart of Southwest Virginia. We are primarily based at the Carilion Riverside campus and at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. We are one of the largest hospital groups in the state of Virginia, with a state-of-the-art outpatient clinic model and a 703-bed flagship inpatient facility. Carilion Medical Center, in partnership with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, boasts 13 accredited residencies and 16 accredited fellowship programs. 

Our program has a unique combination of cutting-edge technologies and bright, energetic faculty who provide excellent clinical, academic and research-focused rheumatology teaching. All relevant serological, imaging and pathology testing can be performed in-house, allowing for comprehensive care. The program grew in 2020 out of the desire to help fill the gap between what our community requires in the way of rheumatology services and the lack of fellowship-trained rheumatologists across the region and country. The program is dedicated to improving the health of the communities we serve and increasing the dwindling number of rheumatologists nationwide.
