Our fellowship training curriculum includes:
- Consultative clinical care
- Didactic core curriculum (see below)
- Continuity care of acute and chronic infectious diseases ,including:
- HIV/AIDS
- Hepatitis C
- Outpatient antimicrobial therapy (OPAT)
- Research – clinical and quality-driven
- Didactic Sessions
The program has structured weekly didactic sessions, including:
- Case Conference
- Presentation of current research
- Journal club
- Antibiotic subcommittee
- Core lecture series that includes various infectious disease topics
- Board review

PGY4 Block Schedule
8-9 blocks of inpatient ID consults
4 blocks of clinical research and/or education
Weekly half-day ID continuity clinic
Biweekly travel clinic when not on consult servicesPGY5 Block Schedule
4-5 blocks of inpatient ID consults
7-8 blocks of clinical research and/or education
UVA Transplant Consultation Service
Weekly half-day ID continuity clinic
Biweekly travel clinic when not on consult services or at UVA
