What are your career interests?
I really enjoy teaching students and other trainees about infectious diseases, particularly on rounds and at the bedside. I also really enjoy helping my patients gain a better understanding of their health and how the human body works.
I have a particular interest in Mycobacterial infections and immunocompromised hosts.

Why did you choose VA Tech Carilion Clinic for residency training?
I did my Internal Medicine residency at VA Tech Carilion as well. I chose VTC for several reasons. I really liked the location, the size of the hospital, the organization's commitment to helping the community, and I especially liked the people with whom I would be working. On my interview day in 2019 it was very apparent to me that the faculty and staff were genuinely kind, intelligent people who really cared about trainees and their wellbeing. That continued to be true throughout my residency and also when I started getting to know the Infectious Diseases faculty and staff. The attending physicians in the Internal Medicine Residency and Infectious Diseases Fellowship have such a large breadth of knowledge and experience but they are also genuinely kind people, so learning from them has been a joy. I would definitely pick my residency and fellowship programs again.
