We do not require a minimum USMLE or COMLEX score for consideration. However, successful applicants to our program have typically passed USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 (or COMLEX equivalents) on their first attempt and have achieved scores at or above the national average.

For applicants who required more than one attempt to pass Step 1, we strongly prefer to see a passing Step 2 score before the Match.

Yes, we welcome applications from highly qualified International Medical Graduates (IMGs). Our program has a strong history of training outstanding IMG residents, including several who have gone on to serve as chief residents.

Successful IMG applicants to our program have typically demonstrated substantial U.S. clinical experience prior to applying for residency.

Yes, we generally interview applicants who are in their final year of medical school or who have graduated within the past five years. However, applicants who have completed additional postgraduate training, participated in significant clinical or research experiences, earned advanced degrees, or gained substantial U.S. clinical experience are encouraged to apply, even if they graduated from medical school more than five years ago.

We review each application holistically and consider the breadth and relevance of an applicant's experiences when evaluating eligibility and competitiveness for our program.

Our program is a four-year categorical neurology residency that fully integrates the PGY-1 year of internal medicine training. The preliminary year is overseen collaboratively by the Neurology and Internal Medicine Program Directors, ensuring a strong foundation for subsequent neurology training.

The PGY-1 curriculum is specifically designed to meet all ACGME requirements for categorical neurology residency training while providing residents with comprehensive clinical experience in internal medicine.
