Program Overview
Mission, Goals and Strengths
The mission of the Plastic Surgery residency is to ensure that residents acquire a thorough education through a comprehensive curriculum encouraging research, scholarship and inquiry. Our clinical faculty offer expertise in all the subspecialty areas of plastic surgery, exposing our residents to the full spectrum of plastic surgery procedures. The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC also provide the residency program with outstanding opportunities to progress in cutting-edge research and educational activities.

Population Served
- Serving patients in southwestern Va. as well as from southern and central Va. and portions of WV, TN and NC
Teaching Opportunities
- All residents will be engaged in teaching fellow residents as well as medical students
Volunteer Opportunities
- Elective time built in to the senior years to allow for volunteer or mission work as desired
