Psychiatry Residency

We offer residents high-quality experiences in a variety of settings, including Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the state. Our residents also rotate at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center and other community sites. We are known as a leader among psychiatry residency programs for our comprehensive training in all aspects of psychiatry. Our residents are extensively trained in inpatient, outpatient, consultative, and community psychiatry care for adults, children, and geriatric patients. We also have a wide variety of interventional services including a very busy Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) service, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS service) ketamine, and Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS).
