Dr. Gomez Mariana is a dedicated physician with a comprehensive medical background. After completing medical school in Venezuela, Dr. Gomez advanced her training in the United States, completing a residency in NYC and an infectious disease fellowship in Roanoke, VA. These experiences have cultivated a well-rounded approach to medicine, particularly in serving underserved populations. Currently, Mariana serves as an attending ID physician, assistant Professor at VTCSOM and director of OPAT clinic and is the founder of a Hepatitis C training program for primary care providers. Her guiding principle emphasizes the importance of finding happiness in one’s work.

Jasmine Y. Jackson-Akers, D.O., was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. She attended Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine for Medical school, SOVAH Health Danville for Residency where she was Chief Resident, and Virginia Tech Carilion for her fellowship. Dr. Jackson-Akers enjoys academic medicine and has a special interest in research. She is committed to providing excellent, personalized patient care.
