Neurology Residency

The goal of this year is to give the resident an opportunity to develop their fundamentals of internal medicine. The majority of time is spent on inpatient medicine rotations managing systemic issues such as hypertension which affect neurological outcomes. PGY1 residents also work closely with neurology residents and attendings to ensure continuity of development of skills and knowledge.

The goal of this year is to build on the basics learned as a PGY-1 and develop management skills for adult acute care neurology.

Neurology is a consultation service which diversifies the learning experience and helps residents build confidence in neurologic examination skills, differential diagnosis, and patient care.

Rotations in psychiatry and radiology are also provided this year

A major part of PGY-3 year is spent learning EEG and EMG as well as other elective rotations where exposure to subspecialties will help round out your education and help with decisions on fellowship or future career paths.

The Chief-Resident year provides numerous diagnostic and management challenges and helps reinforce and solidify the basic elements essential for the successful practice of clinical neurology.  Schedules, teaching and establishment of career paths are the focus here, along with completion of any research projects that were started earlier.
