Adolescent Dentistry

Residents will gain experience treating adolescents by rotating through adolescent dentistry care. 

Specialty Pediatrics
  • Pediatric Cardiology
    • Residents will rotate through Pediatric Cardiology a total of three times, once per week, for a total of three rotation days. 
  • Pediatric Pulmonology
    • Residents will rotate through Pediatric Pulmonology a total of three times, once per week, for a total of three rotation days. 
  • Pediatric Hematology 
    • Residents will rotate through Pediatric Hematology a total of three times, once per week, for a total of three rotation days. 
General Pediatrics

The Section of General Pediatrics within the Department of Pediatric Medicine at Carilion Children’s provides comprehensive primary and preventive care for children from birth to age 18. Residents will rotate through gen peds a total of four times, once per week, for a total of four rotation days. 

LIFT Center

Residents will gain supplemental experience through the LIFT (Local Impact For Tomorrow) center, a safety-net dental provider to support access to oral health for patients who are marginalized or otherwise face challenges due to socioeconomic factors such as payer source, transportation or immigration status. The LIFT center provides clinical and mental health care, private financial counseling, health education and other crucial supports, services, and enriching classes and community-building events for students and their families in southeast Roanoke.

Bradley Free Clinic 

Residents will gain supplemental experience through the Bradley Free Clinic, a safety-net dental provider to support access to oral health for patients who are marginalized or otherwise face challenges due to socioeconomic factors such as payer source, transportation or immigration status. Bradley Free Clinic's mission is: "to provide compassionate and comprehensive health care services for the underserved by partnering with high quality professional volunteers."
