Research Component

It is the hope that through the didactic education curriculum and clinical experience, residents will develop curiosity for research. Residents are encouraged to explore and develop research ideas. A longitudinal research project is required during the course of training. It is the expectation that this project qualifies for publication as either an abstract or manuscript. Residents will have time to make significant progress on their research project and build on their work to date during their PGY3 research block. Carilion Clinic has a robust clinical research infrastructure as well as support from the Musculoskeletal Research Center (MERC)
